This very popular print is Bournemouth Bay, Dorset.
The Bay stretches for 7 miles from Hengistbury Head to Poole. All parts of it are different and interesting to see on a bike ride (15 miles there and back!). Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have long interesting histories and are popular places to visit notwithstanding the wonderful numerous beaches.
The walk down the zigzag here near Boscombe Pier is fab. You pass the famous blue benches (good for a rest on the way back up) and come round the corner to see this magnificent vista presented to you. It is breathtaking. Nestled at the bottom of the image are the fantastic Bournemouth Beach Lodges. On a more blustery day you are likely to see collections of kite surfers on the water – with speed, agility and criss-crossing a real feast for the eyes – ‘oos’ and ‘ahhs’ at impressive jumps. Always lots going on either way on the prom – activities, piers, restaurants, cafes and much more. All in the shadow of the Isle of Wight one way and Swanage and The Purbecks the other. I know we both love this view; it never gets old.
