This print is a beautiful sunset over the equally beautiful Christchurch Harbour, Dorset.

This natural harbour, formed at the end of the Ice Age, is where the Rivers Avon and Stour marry up. It is surrounded by Stanpit Marsh (Nature Reserve), Wick Fields, Hengistbury Head and Mudeford Spit with its glorious sandy beach and famous beach huts. Plenty of protected wildlife, birds and animals. Many sailing boats flowing in and out of the harbour. Resplendent and historical Christchurch Priory is a constant welcoming presence watching the comings and goings.

You can see this view standing on top of Hengistbury Head (Warren Hill) at the triangulation point. The regressive expanse of landscape looks like a comfy duvet against the soft reflective oranges and mauves of the setting sun. I like seeing how far I can see along the horizon in this print as it draws you in. Calming, restful, peaceful.
