This piece was inspired by several elements at Mudeford Quay. My family and I frequently visit the Quay to admire the boats, views to the Isle of Wight and go crabbing; and this image caught my eye.
The fishing boat was moored up, gently bobbing up and down after a trip out at sea, whilst ‘The Run’ was simultaneously flowing rapidly in some places whilst calmer in others. The Black House proudly stood as custodian over the waters. It was the contrast, movement and essence of this beautiful place that I wanted to capture alongside the vast blue skies that seem to go on forever. It was a vista from a different angle to the ones I have previously drawn and draws me in to explore further.
