This print is a Kite surfer on Southbourne Beach, Dorset.
Southbourne Beach is part of Bournemouth Bay, which stretches for 7 miles from Hengistbury Head to Poole. All parts of it are different and interesting to see on a bike ride (15 miles there and back!). There is always something to do here and is a popular beach to visit.
When I spotted this kitesurfer expertly negotiating and taming the roaring wind on Southbourne beach, I just had to create a print. It wasn’t a particularly ‘beachy’ sort of day; the atmosphere was warm but a bit hazy and blustery; great conditions for kitesurfing though. Soft grey lilacs, blues, and turquoises provided a stunning backdrop for the action, allowing me to focus on the emotion of the moment – stamina, control, speed, agility – magical to observe. I am sure any kitesurfer would be equally pleased to get out on this water.
