This print is the iconic view across The Run at Mudeford from the Quay to the end of Mudeford Spit, Dorset, England.
Mudeford Quay is sat between Christchurch Harbour on one side and Avon Beach on the other. It homes the Haven Inn, some quaint former fishermen’s cottages, parking to allow visitors to explore and enjoy the area and is also used for local fishing and water sports. You would likely want to take the Mudeford ferry across “The Run” (between the Quay and Mudeford Sandbank (Spit) given the uncertain dangerous nature of the tides. Beautiful views across to the Spit and the Isle of Wight, The Needles and locally known “Polar Bear” (the chalk white cliff resembles a Polar Bear when reflecting the light).
I created this image after our fun time ‘crabbing’ from the Quay. The crabs loved fresh raw bacon and given the 30 biggies we caught, I can confirm this! The atmosphere of giggling children, whoops of delight and faces mixed with surprise and ‘eugh’ in equal measure together with this backdrop made it perfect. I am sure those in the boat sailing across the horizon were having an equally lovely time.
